Project Life week 8
I am on it this weekend! LOL I'm not sure what happened but I was able to stay up late and finish my week 8 by around 11pm last night (Saturday night)! Today I was able to do a mixed media canvas (see the previous blog post) all while doing laundry and picking up the house! Very productive weekend!! I have four layouts this week! Style B front and back and style D front and back. Aaron's cousin ended up staying all weekend and the weather was beautiful so we had a BBQ. I finished up my altered jewelry box (which was posted to the blog last weekend). The week was pretty uneventful until Friday. I finally insisted that Aaron go get a new phone so he did. The Samsung Galaxy Mega!! Wow it is MEGA!! I used the BH PL core kit: Kraft edition. To embellish I used wood venires from Studio Calico, buttons from SP&Co, Sequins from walmart and some various alpha stickers from Hobby Lobby.
Mommy & Me mixed media canvas
I took this picture of my sister in law and her youngest son a few weeks ago. I absolutely loved it and just HAD to do something with it! I have been wanting to do a mixed media canvas for a while but have been afraid of trying it. I painted this canvas with a combination of acrylic paints (Apple Barrel-Key West, Americana-Calypso Blue and Victorian Blue), I laid down a piece of old lace from my stash, and put a piece of burlap (from a swap with Julie) on top of it. I cut down the picture to 4x5 and matted it on a piece of paper from MME:Lost and Found Portobello Road, attached book corner pieces by We R Memory Keepers and stuck it down. I made all of the flowers from the same MME paper stack and inked all the edges with Tim Holtz Faded Jeans distress ink. The grey pearl trim is from Constance (charmingcustomcrafts). I laid them down in a loopy pattern an glued them in various spots so that they were free flowing. The love charm is by Blue Moon Beads (Joann's) and the stick pin is hand made (not by me) from a swap the I had participated in. I was so excited with how beautiful it turned out!!!! Check it out!
