Project Life weeks 34-37

Whew! I am soooo behind on posting this!! I did these layouts two weeks ago! :-/ I decided to keep the embellishments to a minimum. I have found that I get so wrapped up in trying to coordinate the embellishments that it takes me forever to do the layout. The whole reason I started Project Life was for the quickness and ease and I've lost sight of that. Week 34 is on the back side of an A design layout, using cards from my August Studio Calico kit.
Week 35 is the front side of a design G layout using a mix of cards from August and Septembers SC kits. This was the week that I cooked THREE MEALS IN A ROW! (a record lol)And at the end of the week, I started vacation and dropped the car off for repairs from the wreck back in March.
Week 36 is the back side of that same design G. I used the back of one of the cards from week 35 with an embellishment from the September kit. These are some of the projects that I made while on vacation.
For week 37 I used a design J, front and back. This is the tail end of my vacation and the week that I went back to work (yuck). The cards again, were a mix of August and September kits. At this point, I was totally caught up... but now I'm two weeks behind again lol! I'm hoping to get caught up again tomorrow! :)

Bedtime Prayers - MP challenge 52

Hello everyone! I was sitting in my craft room yesterday pondering what to make. I've REALLY had an itch for coloring the last few weeks. So I started going through my stamps and came across this La-La stamp, "Bedtime Luka". I though to myself, "that would make a cute little wall hanging". Then my next dilemma, what colors am I going to use? I tend to use the same colors over and over so I stared at them trying to decide. I want to use colors that I'm not so comfortable with. I won't get better if I don't practice, right? So I narrowed it down to red, green, or yellow. I couldn't make up my mind so I thought I would see what the markerpop bi-weekly challenge was...GREENS! That sealed it for me! I will be entering this wall hanging in the challenge over at markerpop.com I stamped my image on Express it cardstock in Memento, Tuxedo Black ink. I colored him with my copics as follows- Hat and Onesie Cuffs/Collar: YG0000, YG41, YG45. For the poufy ball: W00, W1, W3, W5. Onsie Sleeper: G000, G05, G09, G07 and G29 on the zipper. Skin: E0000, E000, E02. Hair: E27, E47, E29, E49. I took a 6x6 piece of chipboard. I glued down a piece of twine at the top us use as a hanger. Then found this piece of scrap cardstock for the background. I got it in a RAK so I can't tell you who makes it. I took my Ranger Emboss it marker in clear and wrote the words "Now I lay me down to sleep" and used copper embossing powder on it, then adhered it to the chipboard. I inked around my image in Tim Holtz Distress ink in Peeled Paint and backed it with some craft cardstock. I went around the boarders with lace that I had in my stash and finished it off with some green flat back pearl trim. I think I'm going to send this to my brother-in-law and his wife. They are expecting their second child! Can't wait to see what they think of it!
If you cannot follow the link to the challenge, you can go to markerpop.com and select the "blog" tab. Once on the blog, look to the right and you will see a list of awesomeness. The Bi-weekly challenges will be listed there. http://blog.markerpop.com/2014/09/15/markerpop-challenge-52/

Project Life weeks 31-33

Alright! I got a few layouts done! I'm still three weeks behind though. I was on vacation this past week and spent the whole week in my craft room. I'm trying to stock up on handmade crafts so I can open my own little shop. I'm going to start a page on facebook to sell my crafts. Actually, I've already created it, just haven't released it publicly yet. Enough about that, you're hear to see my progress with Project Life :) Like the last couple of posts, I've kept it very simple (helps when I'm behind to not focus on embellishments) I used my Studio Calico August kit, Sandlot, for these layouts. Week 31 shows a big celebration! I got a check in the mail from my auto insurance. Reimbursement for my deductible for the repairs needed on my car! I messed up when creating my title card and labeled it as week 30. I had already created the next layout so I put a "ne" inside the 0 to create "one". Week 32 shows the cutest little post-it note holder that I have ever seen! It looks like a pallet of huggies diapers. I have discovered "Birthday Cake M & M's!!! OMG THEY ARE SOOOOO AWESOME!!! Not so awesome was my vet bill lol. I had to take one of the cats and one of the dogs back to the vet. They actually didn't charge me for the cat, he was just a re-check. But Rambo cost me about $275. Week 33 I got to enjoy a quiet morning with my coffee before church and make a duck tape wallet for my niece. I also received an awesome surprise at work. An invoice clerk at another store sent me a candy gram to say thank you for all the help that I have given her. That week she had called me quite a bit and was so grateful for my help that she wanted to send me a gift. I have to say that I got it just at the right moment! I was really feeling overwhelmed and underappreciated. That delivery made up for all of the stress and aggravation I had that week! Finally Aaron and I finished off the week with root beer floats, mmmmmm :)

Cheeky Sweet Birthday!

I have 7 nieces so they keep me busy with making birthday cards lol! This is for my oldest niece, Whitney. She will be 16 on Tuesday!! Time is going by way too fast! This image is from The Greeting Farm's Super Secret Stamp Club. It's called Cheeky Sweet. I colored her with my Copics using BV 17,BV13,BV02 for the dress. BV02,BV00,BV0000 for the barretts with wink of stella in clear. V93, V95 for the cupcake icing. C7, C10, 110, BV17, BV13 for her hair along with a white jelly roll pen. E000, E00, E02 for her skin. Eyeshadow BV17, BV0000. E35, E37, E39 for the cupcake. E70, E74 for the wrapper and R24, R27, R29 and glossy accents for the cherry. The background paper is a piece of scrap that I got in a RAK. The sentiment is from a wooden mounted stamp from Hobby Lobby. Isn't she just too cute?!?!

Project Life weeks 28-30

Yay! I got three PL layouts done this weekend! Kept all of them VERY simple! I used cards and a few embellishments from my July Studio Calico kit. There weren't a lot of embellishments in the July kit so it made it even easier to keep it simple. I'm still behind, I have a two more weeks to catch up on (three again by next weekend lol). The first layout shows my nephews 3rd bday, two of my furbabies waking me up, and a fish hook that we found in our living room. They next layout is mostly of my Rambo. I had to take him to the vet and found that he had a bulging disk. I spent $60 on some little stairs to help him get up and down but he wouldn't use them. As you can see, Anne was trying to use them and broke them! Fortunately 4 of 5 days on meds fixed him right up! And the third layout shows a ton of cards that I made for a birthday card challenge along with my poor cricut imagine. Apparently the sensor that reads the ink cartridges has gone out. Since it's a discontinued machine, I can't fix it :(

Birthday Card challenge

I have been coloring up a storm this week! I didn't have a plan for them, just wanted to practice my coloring. But then I realized that I could make them into birthday cards for a challenge posted by a woman that I follow on YouTube, Kim. She's hosting a birthday card challenge in honor of her mother. She asked that everyone make birthday cards that she can deliver to the home her mother had lived in, for the residents there. I ended up making 8 cards, one of which I used watercolor markers on. I will give a rundown of papers, stamps, and colors, then post the pictures. :) All of the card bases are pre-folded A2 size cards from Hobby Lobby. Card #1 I found this embossed image in my stash. I don't know the name of it or even who sent it. It was part of a group swap, but there wasn't a name on it. I colored it with my watercolor markers and created a little background. The sentiment is from Hobby Lobby. Card #2 The background paper is from Fancy Pants: Park Bench. I inked the edges and stamped the image with TH, distress ink: Faded Jeans. The image is a TH, Alterations stamp from Sizzix: Birthday Blueprint. I used some Cosmo Cricket washi across the top and on the inside, used a stamp from Hobby Lobby. The edges of the image are inked with TH, distress ink: Broken China. Card #4 The image is from SP&Co: Bird with Balloons. I tried to color the balloons to be clear (so that you can see one behind the other). The sentiment is also from SP I used the following colors on it. Bird- R14, R24, R29, YR12, YR14. Balloons- BV0000, BV00, B0000, B01, Y00, Y11. Flowers/branch- RV52, RV63, Y18, E18, E49, G40, G43. Card #5 The background paper for this card is from Basic Grey: Hey Girl. Puppy Love

My poor little dog has a ruptured disk :( So after a trip to the vet we came home and chilled on the couch. I decided it would be a perfect opportunity to get some copic coloring done! So I decided to color up this new image that I got from The Greeting Farm called Puppy Love. I will list all the markers that I used at the end. After coloring him up, I had a brilliant idea to make him into a card for my husband. It's good to do random things for your spouse to show that you are always thinking of him/her! :) The base is an aqua card base from Hobby Lobby. The background paper is from a Studio Calico 6x6 pad called Classic Calico. I inked around all the edges and stamped my sentiment in Tim Holtz DI: Broken China. My sentiment is from Hobby Lobby and is Spanish for "I love you". The little cut out that it is stamped onto came from a MME pad: Portobello Road. I popped up my image with some foam taper and added some vintage seam binding from Wild Orchid Crafts in Bay Leaf.
Colors are as follows - Hair YR20, YR21, YR23, YR27. Skin E00, E21, E02. Puppy E95, E97, E99, R20, R12. Pants b12, B14, B16. Shirt and Shoes C00, C01. Jacket YG41, YG45. Banner BG10, BG11, R12, R14, BG10, BG11, BG13

Week 27 Project Life

Alright! I think I have my computer issues solved... %fingers crossed%! I restored my computer back to a date before I did the new windows update and was able to add a picture to my previous post! Yay! So now I can add my week 27. This is a design D and the first page in my 2nd album for 2014. I used my July SC kit. All except the 4x6 card. It came from my June kit. But I did use my starburst stencil from my July kit on the card! I sprayed it with glimmer mist in Bahama Blue. The second picture shows one of the foxes that lives on my in-laws property. The foxes have gotten use to my in-laws feeding them their scraps and pop out of their den every time the back door opens. The feast of the day was lasagna! This was my first week back to work after vacation. I was suppose to go back to my own store but at the last minute, I was asked to go back to Stillwater for three days. So I returned to my store on Thursday. After being gone three full weeks, the third picture is what I came back too! The last picture shows the new album. So exciting! I'm use to having one album for several years. I'm so happy that I discovered Project Life! It keeps me motivated on memory keeping!!

week 26 Project Life

Guess what I did on Friday night? Project Life! This was a super simple layout. Because I had so many pictures, I only needed a 4x3 and a 3x4 card. This was the week that I was on vacation! The three embellishments that I used and the cards came from my June SC kit. There is a small bit of tiny, striped washi on the 3x4 that came from a previous kit (maybe May?) This is the last page for my first Pl album!!! This one is now full and I have to start a second. My computer (or maybe the site) is not cooperating! I've tried two times now to insert a picture and it just freezes up! :( So I'm going to post this as is and try to insert a picture later. Then, at least if it freezes, I don't have to re-type everything AGAIN! :) Hope you all are having a great weekend!

Altered Frame

This is a project that I did earlier in the week. I just haven't had a moment to post it to my blog until now. I bought this frame at Good Will around a year ago! My husband really loves the coffee that my grandpa buys so we have started ordering it ourselves. My last order contained two new travel mugs. When we were fixing to leave for church, I noticed all three of us using our Community Coffee cups and had to get a picture. Then I thought, "I want to display it". Perfect opportunity to alter that old frame! I started by painting the dark green outer frame a dark brown with acrylic paint. While the paint was drying I colored and paper pieced my images from The Greeting Farm. Café Ian> skin: E00, E11, E02 hair: E47, E79, E49 cup: C00, C01 shirt: C00 Latte Anya> skin: E0000, E000, E02 hair: E97, E99, YR27 cup: E50, E51, E53 coffee sleeve: YG41, YG45 shirt: B0000, B01 boots: E35, E37, E39. I glued a strand of flat back pearls that my friend Sherry sent all around the frame. I folded up a doily from Nica's shop (Simply Shimmery Scraps) and added an assortment of flowers. The carnation looking ones are some that I made using scallop circles. The large pattern paper roses are from Prima and there is one little pink rose from Wild Orchid Crafts. The cute little coffee cups are actually metal brads that my friend Constance sent me. I clipped off the brad part and glued them down. I took a tag from the packaging (from my coffee order), added another one of those brads to it, and glued it to the frame as well. I absolutely love it and it didn't really take any time at all. It's proudly displayed in my living room now!

Birdie birthday card

Another little project from my vacation! After finishing all of my Project Life layouts, I made this cute little card for an upcoming birthday! The image is from SP&Co: Bird with Balloons and is adhered to an orange card base. I colored it with my copic markers and will be submitting it for the bi-weekly challenge at MarkerPOP.com. I used the following colors: bird-Y11,Y15,&Y18 balloons-(1)YR20,Y23,&Y26 (2)Y00,Y11,&Y15 (3)YR82,YR12,&YR14 branch-E27,E29,&E49 flowers-(1)BV13&BV17 (2)B01&B04 leaf-G40,G43,&G46. I inked around the edges with yellow ink, used Viva Décor in Sunny Yellow for the centers of the flowers, and added a small glass butterfly. The sentiment is on the inside of the card. I wanted to keep this one pretty simple and not give it a lot of dimension. Cant wait to see what I can accomplish tomorrow!

Project Life weeks 22-25

OMG! I'm all caught up!! So I'm on vacation this week and I'm enjoying every minute! I woke up at 6:30 this morning! (what the heck?) I was really excited to get into my craft room! I had started organizing last night before my husband and son asked me to come watch a movie with them. So I got up this morning, bright eyed and bushy tailed. I cleaned up the kitchen, vacuumed the entire apartment and went into my craft room. I made so much progress!! I finally got to point where I felt really accomplished and was happy to sit down and start scrapping. I mainly used my June Studio Calico PL kit. I'm embarrassed to say that today is the last day of June and I just broke the seal on my June kit today...I've been really busy. I didn't embellish a whole lot. I wanted to keep it simple so that I would remain focused on getting everything done. The first picture is of my cousins wedding on May 31st. I used an assortment of stickers from my stash for this layout. The next picture starts my weeks. Week 22 and 25, I used tab dividers to label them so I edited the picture to show the week number. I used an assortment of page protectors styles. In order they are: week22 (backside of) A and H (front & back), week23 D (front side), week24 (backside of) D and J (front & back), week25 F (front side). Hope you enjoy the pictures!
