A New Year Gift

I'm on vacation this week. Trying to clean up in my craft room. A leak has developed in the closet, forcing me to pull everything out of there and re-arrange. In my milling around, I decided that I wanted to make something for new year's. I decided that I would make gifts for my husband to take to his fellow management team (since we don't really do Christmas and a lot of them sent little gifts to him). I wanted to make candles however I didn't have enough of one type of jar to make everyone the same (that's an issue for me lol). I finally decided to just make them for his store manager and the four co- managers. I prepared the candle in a nice 10 oz jar with two wicks. Then used some scraps!! I had lots of these little white tags cut from my cricut. I wrote the scent on them and tied them with some hemp twine around the jars. I had some scrap cream colored card stock laying about so I used it to make a small tag. I stamped the sentiment (from sp&co) and put a different colored button on each. The buttons also cam from sp&co - Teeny bikini, Hula Skirt, Summer Sunset, Walk the Plank, and Blue Lagoon. I took a plain white paper bag, folded it once, punched two holes in it, and closed it with some silver cord with the tag attached. And there you have it! A quick, simple New Year's gift!

Happy Turkey Day!

It's Thanksgiving everybody!!! Happy Thanksgiving! I spent the day at my grandparents house with my son. It was wonderful!! One of my managers let me off work (even though it will be the biggest night of the year for us) I'm so blessed! Unfortunately my hubby still has to work so he didn't get to go with us. But we did get to have dinner with his family last night so he didn't totally miss out. :) No crafts really to share today. I did crochet a blanket for my sister but I really just wanted to say Happy Thanksgiving!

Kissing Hedgies Anniversary Card

My grandparents celebrated their 58th wedding anniversary this past week!! This is a card that I made for them. I used the "Kissing Hedgies" stamp by Tina Wenke at Sp&Co. I colored this adorable image with my copics. The design paper is from MME - Love Me. The paper is double sided of course so the "love" sentiment is the reverse side of the doily design. Everything is matted onto yellow cardstock and inked with purple chalk ink. The card back is 8 1/2 x 11 folded in half so it's a pretty sizable card. :) The sentiment is from a Sp&Co set- Mix 'n Match Sentiments:Occasions. I finished it off my adding some pearl drops in two corners using my Viva Décor Pearl Pen in Sunny Yellow. Happy Anniversary Grandma & Grandpa!!!!

Demask Mini Album

Hey everyone! I'm a week behind with posting this! This is an album I made for my friends daughter. It's a birthday gift for her! I was really happy with the way it turned out. She told me that she liked the black and white damask pattern and would like dark purple as well. She also likes chandeliers. I will list all the supplies then post pictures. *The album was constructed using a tutorial on youtube from my sister's scrapper. Each page has an extension that folds out and is held in place by magnets. Each page also has a pull out photo mat. *All of the damask paper and the black cardstock is from Paper Studio (Hobby Lobby). The inner covers are form MME-Lost and Found Portobello Road *On the cover- flowers are from Hobby Lobby in the bridal section and I created the stick pin from assorted beads that I have in my stash. The chandelier die cuts on the spine and throughout the album are from my cricut imagine. Teresa Collins - Baby Boutique cartridge *The tabs for the photo mats are from a Spellbinders die - Creative Page Tabs *The tags are from a Sizzix Bigz Die- Tags# 3 *The stamps on the tags are from two sets. Inkadinkado- Chandeliers and Tim Holtz- Urban Grunge *The "mini-mini" was created from a variation of a tutorial on youtube. I have the original video attached to my video of this mini. The paper used is from Recollections and from a Provo Craft stack-Soft Serenity. Shown above is the first page that has tags inserted into the extension flap. Page 3 has the "mini-mini" tucked into a small pocket

Wedding Card

I made another card tonight! This one is for one of my husbands co-workers. He recently got married and my husband asked me to make a card! :) It's sweet when your husband tells you that your creations are good but when he ASKS you to make something....YAY! The pattern papers are from Prima: Almanac Collection. The sentiment is from a Stampabilities set. And this adorable image is from spandcompany. Another Gill Roberts design: Wedding couple. I still struggle with my copic coloring but I think I turned out well. I was really nervous with the black suit. I need a few more of the gray colors so that I can do more shading.

Thankful

October is Pastor Appreciation Month! How many of you knew that?? Well I made this card for my pastor and his wife. They have both made a huge impact on my life! I originally intended for this to be a vertical card. Hence the pattern paper going the wrong way... oops. But my image was a bit long for a vertical so I just turned it and made it horizontal! The image is from spandcompany. It's from the Gill Roberts Collection; Squirrel with Acorns (incredibly cute)& I backed it with some craft paper. The pattern paper came from Teresa Collins: Vintage Finds. The smaller vertical strip (also backed with craft paper) is actually the reverse side of the main background piece. For my sentiment I decided to use a piece of flair from spandcompany: Fall Trees. I've tried this layout before with the overlapping layers and didn't like them but I'm really happy with the way this card turned out!

Espresso my thanks!

This is a card that I made for my friend and her spouse. They are so wonderful! They pick me up for work when I need a ride and will bring me home too if my hubby can't pick me up. One day this week, she was off but still had her significant other pick me up and take me to work! I'm so blessed to have such wonderful friends! The details: The background paper is from MME-Lost & Found Portobello Road. I inked the edges and stamped the sentiment with Tim Holtz Distress ink in Walnut Stain. The sentiment and image are from spandcompany Latte Art stamp set. And lastly the ribbon is from Studio G. Very simple one today :)

Card on the go

Today is my mother-in-laws birthday! I meant to put a card together for her earlier in the week but with me working the overnight shift this week.....well my schedule was off to say the least. This morning was the first time I set foot in my craft room since Sunday night! So I put this together this morning before leaving for church! Luckily I had the image already colored!! I love this image! It is so stinkin' adorable!! It's a Tina Wenke stamp from spandcompany called Bird with Balloons. I used plain white cardstock and the design paper is a mystery. Literally lol. It was a piece of cardstock that was included in one of my orders from spandcompany.com. I really like the way it came out, simple and cute! :)

Piecing it together

Today's card is a piecing project! I used two stamp sets from spandcompany. I used the Emma image from 'Glam Girl Emma' and the balloons are from 'Bird with Balloons'(designed by Tina Wenke). I paper pieced Emma's dress and crown with paper from Teresa Collins: Vintage Finds. I colored everything else with my copics and used three buttons from spandcompany in 'Clownfish', 'Sand Castle', and 'Walk the Plank'. The inside of the card and the envelope has a strip of decorative tape that matches the design of the dress and crown. :)

Junk Journal

Okay, I hope this works lol! I'm going to attempt to attach my youtube video to this post instead of a picture. I also show my "Ice cream & Pickles" card in the video. This journal was created with a paper collection from Fancy Pants: The Good Life. I used the 12x12 paper in addition to the 4x6 card mats. The pages measure 4 1/4 by 6 1/4 with each mat measuring 4x6. I incorporated several types of pocket pages. Some of the tags pull from the top, one from the side, two tiny "envelope" sacks to create tag pockets, and one mini paper sack to create tag pockets. There is also a "gatefold" on the front cover with a closure and a waterfall mat stack on the back cover. I used several different stamps from spandcompany, 7 Gypsys, and Studio G. Okay, I can't figure out how to attach the video so here is a photo collage :)

Ice Cream & Pickles!

I made another card for my sister! My younger sister recently found out that she's pregnant with baby #5! She has four girls so %%fingers crossed%% we are hoping for a boy! :) This is a 6X6 card. The design paper is from My Mind's Eye : Lost & Found Portobello Road. I trimmed it down just a bit. The image is from Saturated Canary: Ice Cream & Pickles. The buttons on the banner are from spandcompany. Left to right the colors are Hula Skirt, Walk the Plank, Aqua Seaglass, Summer Sunset, and Flamingo Pink. The sentiment is also from spandcompany: Glam Girl Emma stamp set. I colored the image with my copics. I'm still leaning but I'm really happy with the way she turned out!

Getting Organized!

Well, I'm on vacation this week! I had hoped to get lots of crafting done this week BUT decided that I had better spend some time cleaning and organizing. My craft room was getting a little out of hand! lol I keep buying supplies, but have run out of room for all of it so I thought I would get a new book shelf and rearrange some things. I also got a new Cricut expression! YAY! I broke my expression a few months back and I finally was able to replace it! I have been looking for the black one since June! I passed up a good deal on one around Fathers day. But I waited patiently and that particular ebay seller had it back in stock and was running another good deal on it! It was delivered today! So excited! Hoping to get my room finished up today and spend some time in there tomorrow creating!

Cupcake Fairy card

I made this card for my little sister who is having a bit of a rough time right now. I colored her with my copics and used red glitter glue on her dress. The sentiment, "You Are Certifiably Sweet", comes from spandcompany's 'Certified Awesome' and 'Certified Awesome Additions' stamp sets. I also used the coordinating die tools. The background paper comes form My Mind's Eye - Love Me 6x6 pad. The inside sentiment comes from spandcompany's 'Sunshine Emma' stamp set.

Makin Candles!

Tonight I'm making candles! I love the way the house smells when I make candles! Pictured here are 'Amber Romance', 'Blueberry Cobbler', & 'Buttercream'. I even make scented cubes! They are great for the excess. I always have a little too much wax left when I'm pouring so the cube molds are perfect for that! These are for some friends. I really hope they enjoy them! Sometimes I give my candles to people and find out later that they never burned them. My grandma has candles that I made her about 5 years ago lol. When I asked her why she hadn't burned them, her response was the same as everybody else's. "I don't want to use it all up." Ummmmm, I can make more! lol

Amazing Day card

I made this card using design paper from Basicgrey "Hey Girl", several elements from Scrapmaster's Paradise (SP & Company) and bakers twine from the Paper Studio. The adorable image is "Sunshine Emma" from SP&Co. I also used the coordinating die set to cut her and the sun out. I used a piece of Starburst flair fro SP to accent the sun and the sentiment is from their "Certified Awesome" stamp and die set. I popped up the sun and the banner of the sentiment using foam tape. I think it turned out really cute!
Stick pins that I made. Four for a "one on one" swap with my friend Michelle. And one for another friends mom. She loves angles :)
My first ATC cards! I made them for a swap on artandsassy.ning.com
This is a coffee sleeve mini I made for my secret partner in a swap that I hosted on the Charming Custom Crafts site on fb.

Been a while!!

Well I haven't shared anything for a while! Between secret swaps, facebook, youtube, and just life in general, I tend to forget about my blog. But all of my projects can be seen on my youtube channel. Had a lot of great things going on! I hosted a coffee sleeve mini swap. I'm currently participating in a card swap, ATC card swap and an "Immortal Love" mini challenge. I've also been practicing my copic coloring. Looking forward to a copic colouring class in mid September. Samantha from Scrapmaster's Paradise will be teaching! Go to spandcompany.com for details if you are looking to learn the basics about copic coloring. A great price as well!!!
I will post pictures a little later of some things I have been working on.
Happy Wednesday!!!

Stick Pins Everywhere!

I joined a stick pin swap over at Charming Custom Crafts and OMG! I'm addicted! They are so easy to make that you just can't stop! We had to make two pins for each participant but I made four for the hostess and Connie (CCC) If I can figure out how to post a pic to this blog, I'll do so lol. This blogging thing is confusing to me. If I had someone here to show me how to operate it, I'd be fine.... I'm sure it's really simple, just need to play with it I guess :)

This is my first blog! I've wanted to enter many challenges but couldn't because they say to link you blog. So I'm going to attempt to add pictures to this blog so that I can enter some challenges! If anyone out there has any helpful info for me, I would really appreciate it. :)
