Altered Jewelry box
I have been wanting to do this for a while now! I bought this jewelry box at Good Will almost a year ago. I painted it with Apple Barrel acrylic paint in King's Gold, Cameo Pink, & Key West. I adhered paper from The London Market collection by Pink Paislee (inking the edges with Tim Holtz tea dye distress ink). I used two book knobs from 7 gypsies, Brittana collection. The embellishments on top consist of a small doily from Nica at SimplyShimmeryScraps, a large metal charm from Michael's, and paper roses from Wild Orchid Crafts. I think it turned out so beautiful!!!

Week 5 of Project Life! Going Strong!!
It's February and I'm still doing Project Life! Yay! I have another small layout this week. I didn't get a lot of shap-shot worthy moments this week lol. However I did have JUST enough to fully fill a G style layout front and back so I didn't have room for journaling. I decided to use a bi-fold card to do the journaling. I also didn't do a lot of embellishing. Mostly just an assortment of washi tape along with a mini duck punch, and a tab from a spellbinders die. Layout 1: Fundraiser time, I bought 20 candy bars from my niece to help her raise money fro choir. I bought this box of ammo on 10/11/12 not realizing that I had lost all 3 clips! My hubby ordered me a clip online and I received it in the mail on Saturday. Success-you can't really tell but this is Clarence using his new litter box! Sunday we awoke to snow so I used this collage of pictures to use as my title card. The fourth picture shows a gaggle of ducks picking through the snow. I snapped the pic then went to tell my husband about them, when I came back they were gone and this cat was looking around. I'm sure it scared them away lol. The last picture in this layout is my son keeping Rambo warm after taking him outside. Layout 2: I had been looking for the cord to my glue gun for days. I gave up and used my old one. I sat down to work on a different project, looked to my right, and there it is in my Chewbacca mug! Below that is a flower that I crocheted with thin crochet thread. Up top, we got more snow and Anne and I were the first to walk in it! She took me in circles. Later that evening my husband and I went to eat at Old Chicago with his cousin and they were snoring on the couch by 8:45pm! I have to say that I really love keeping up with my scrapbooking this way! I look forward to this ALL WEEK LONG! Haha! I hope you have enjoyed even though they aren't really embellished. After all, embellishing isn't important, it's about the memories right?

PL planner
After I finished with my PL layout for week 4, I had the entire afternoon to fiddle in my craft room. I decided to make something for ME! Normally, the projects that I make are for someone specific or to have a gift on hand. But this time, I sat down to make something specifically for myself. When I'm planning out my PL layouts, I usually just sketch it out on paper. But I wanted something more organized. So I decided to make a planner. I made up a layout on my laptop and printed it out, cut out the covers to be 1/4 inch bigger, and used my cinch to bind it. The pages are simple. I put 2 blank squares at the top (blank so that I can just draw in the layout that I want to use). And numbered lines to plan out where I want to put each picture. I also created a little "cheat sheet" showing the different type of layouts that are offered and circled the ones I have currently. The paper I used on the covers is from a paper pad that I got at Hobby Lobby by The Paper Studio: Kellerkurtz & Company. I just love it! I didn't embellish it at all, just left it simple. The paper is beautiful enough. :)
Week 4 of PL
Well it was kind of a bad week so I didn't take many pictures. I only have two layouts for this week. I didn't embellish a whole lot. Just used a few gems from the Paper Studio, a few craft stickers (brand unknown, generic?), some smash washi tape, a piece of flair from SP&Co and sentiment stamps also from SP&Co. I use the PL: Cut & Paste edition mini kit. I love the mini kit because it's cute and you're not overloaded with cards. However, it's 1/6 the amount of product at only 1/2 the price. So all in all, the full core kits are really better as far as "more bang for your buck". So as you will see, my niece photo bombed my nephew as I tried to get a picture of his chocolate cake face. On Sunday, it was 66 degrees....IN JANUARY! I had all the windows open in the house and did some "spring cleaning". Wednesday I went to get replacement blades for my trimmer but totally forgot that HL doesn't carry them so my hubby agreed that I should get an new, better, more sturdy one. Happy, Happy, Happy. It was $30 but I used a 40% coupon. They have a bigger one that will cut chipboard (that I would really like to get) but it' like $120! Have to save for that lol. Also on Wednesday, I decided to take some advice from a couple of friends. My dog, Anne, LOVES to get into the cats litter box and...[I'm sure you can figure out why]. So to remedy this gross issue, some friends told me to get a Rubbermaid, Sterlite {what ever} tote that has a locking lid, cut a hole in the top big enough for my fat cats to fit through, and voila! Anne's neck is too short to allow her head to reach the bottom. No more buffet for her!!! So this picture isn't of Ozzy using it lol, he's just checking it out. Page 2- time to recolor my hair. Love my Hair Goddess! She is awesome. We went darker with the base color and instead of just blonde highlights, she also threw in some copper! L O V E it! I got some happy mail from Nica! YAY! Who doesn't love happy mail? Our cat tree died. It's been a bit wobbly for a few months now so it was only a matter of time. I woke up and it was in the floor... really surprised it didn't wake me up! And finally Friday! So happy for this week to be over. Best of all Tyler is here for the weekend! Enjoy the pics. I hope I'm able to inspire someone, even if it is a bit plain this week. As always I will be linking this to thescrapmater blog :)
